Description
While a teenager, Christine learned that she was adopted as an infant by her Swedish parents. Now 40 and a psychologist in the U.S., she returns to Iran to search for her birth parents. Iranian newspapers print her story, and an astonished Christine arrives in the Tehran airport to a throng of families, all claiming to be her rightful kin. Not surprisingly, genealogical closure proves elusive, but Christine's quest quickly morphs into an eye-of-the-storm chronicle of unsettled and unsettling familial histories, all stemming from the abandonment of baby girls. Understated yet starling in its revelations, Christine is a documentary you won't want to miss.
