Abstract

Urban Design in the Inner Core of the Historic City of Yazd. 199 pages, ill, 29 cm. Softcover. This is a publication of the Urban Planning and Architecture Research Centre under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. Yazd is unique in Persian history for several reasons. The main one is its architectural features, which are adapted for its hot, dry climate. It is also the traditional center of the ancient Persian religion of Zoroastrianism. This book includes many designs, aerial drawings and photographs. The text is mostly in Persian with a preface in English.
